![]() ![]() ![]() Our main character, America Singer, is from caste five and she does not wish to try out for the Selection despite her mother’s request. Doesn’t this sound familiar? □ But the only difference from being similar to the Bachelor is the Dystopian setting where people are divided by castes (1 through 8 where 1 is the highest and 8 is the lowest). Within this series, 35 girls are chosen to take part in The Selection which is basically a competition to see who will win the Prince’s hand in marriage. Overall, I thought this was an “ok” series and it did have a bit of a second book slump so I had to give this a 3.5/5 stars. I kind of understood what to expect from this novel when I first picked it up since it was described to be a YA take on the “Bachelor in a Dystopian setting” but there were a few twists here and there which I didn’t see coming. This series was seriously out of my comfort zone since it was mostly romance driven however, I decided to give it a chance.
